Architect - Be and Platform Engineering

We are seeking a seasoned Backend Platform Engineer with a pronounced emphasis on back-end engineering, possessing deep expertise in both Azure and AWS environments. This pivotal role entails leading the design, development, and optimization of scalable, high-performance platforms, integrating cutting-edge cloud services, and ensuring seamless interaction with front-end applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the core backend systems that support Computer Vision platforms. He/she will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our platform's reliability, scalability, and performance and will be pivotal in guiding the architecture and implementation within the Azure and AWS ecosystems.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of scalable, secure backend and API solutions on AWS and Azure, utilizing services like AWS Amplify, API Gateway, Azure API Management, and serverless functions (AWS Lambda, Azure Functions) to enhance backend capabilities.
• Architect cloud-native API solutions leveraging the full capabilities of AWS and Azure to ensure optimal scalability, reliability, and performance, incorporating security best practices and compliance standards.
• Employ Docker and Kubernetes, including Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS), to streamline the deployment and management of API-driven applications, adopting serverless architectures to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Facilitate the creation and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, AWS CodePipeline, and CodeBuild, focusing on automating the build, test, and deployment processes for API-centric software delivery.
• Manage Azure and AWS Container Registry (ACR) for streamlined container image management, implementing microservices design principles to build resilient, scalable applications focused on API services.
• Integrate DevOps practices to enhance automation, monitoring, and proactive incident management using tools like Azure Monitor and AWS CloudWatch, aiming for high availability and reliability of API services.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring backend API services effectively support front-end interfaces and complex data processing needs, facilitating seamless integration and data flow.
• Oversee the management of databases on both platforms, including Azure and AWS RDS, DynamoDB, and other services, to optimize data storage, processing, and retrieval in support of platform functionality.
• Lead the troubleshooting and resolution of Platform challenges with a systematic approach to incident management, prioritizing the security and integrity of Platform services and data.
• Stay updated on the latest trends in cloud computing, containerization, and API development, exploring new tools and methodologies to continually innovate and enhance our cloud infrastructure and API services.

Mandatory Tech Skills:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Masters degree preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in software development, with a significant focus on back-end and API development in cloud-native environments (Azure and AWS).
• Expert knowledge of cloud services (AWS, Azure), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and serverless computing (AWS Lambda, Azure Functions).
• Some proficiency in developing front-end applications using frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD practices, microservices architecture, and DevOps principles.
• Experience with microservices architecture and API development.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Terraform).
• Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a track record of working effectively in cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
