About the Customer:
Company is a multinational conglomerate that operates in the retail, hospitality, and leisure sectors.
About the Role:
Designation : Buying Lead.
Work Location: Bangalore.
Work Experience: 10-15 Years of experience.
Role Summary :
- Develop the overall category strategy including long-term growth plan, product portfolio mix, pricing, positioning etc.
- Own the category PnL and drive development, growth and margins.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Create short-term and long-term business plans for the category (Sales and margin forecasting, budgeting at a product level).
- Vendor identification, negotiations, on-boarding and development.
- Driving excellence in vendor operations along with key metrics like cost, quality, speed and ethics.
- Supplier/ Vendor management across different product categories.
- Adding new vendors and categories proactively by constantly improving Quality, Cost and Delivery terms with suppliers across India.
- Launching unique products across different categories in line with cost, quality, and ethical considerations.
- Monitor category metrics against goals on a regular basis and deep dive where needed to drive performance.
- Driving standardization: Ensuring standardization of products, process and prices.
- Closely monitor industry trends and competitor developments (new launches, product features, pricing, etc.
- Analyze the current trends and forecast future consumer trends based on seasonality, environment/external factors, demand, competitor analysis, etc.
- Develop a product positioning strategy that drives growth and consumer loyalty.
- Be the voice of the customer internally monitor consumer feedback and consumer insights to drive continuous improvement.
- Build and manage the category team (e., hiring, goal setting, performance management).
- Leading efforts to coach key team members towards their growth and development in making efficient buying decisions.
Background and Requirements :
Job Requirements :
Education: Graduate/Postgraduate/NIFT.

- Candidate from the NIFT background with a good understanding of the Dcor.
- Someone who handled the lead role and managed the high vendor base.
- 10-15 years relevant experience in Buying need to consider.
- Candidate not to be shortlisted from hyper background.
