Head - Industrial Engineer (Garment Manufacturing)

Job Summary:

The Industrial Engineer will be responsible for improving the efficiency of the manufacturing process, reducing costs, and optimizing workflow in garment production. The role involves studying production layouts, methods, and schedules to ensure the most effective use of labor, machinery, and materials.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process Optimization: Analyze and develop efficient production processes to enhance garment manufacturing operations and reduce wastage.
• Time and Motion Study: Conduct time and motion studies to measure worker performance and establish accurate labor standards.
• Capacity Planning: Calculate and plan factory capacity based on production orders and optimize resource utilization.
• Layout Planning: Design and optimize factory layouts for improved workflow, machine placement, and space utilization.
• Production Efficiency: Identify bottlenecks in production and recommend solutions to improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and increase output.
• Work Methods Improvement: Recommend improvements in methods, procedures, and controls to improve the manufacturing process and reduce production costs.
• Quality Control: Collaborate with the quality control department to ensure that production processes meet quality standards.
• Cost Reduction: Implement lean manufacturing principles and identify areas for cost savings in labor, materials, and energy consumption.
• Data Analysis: Use statistical tools and techniques to analyze production data and provide insights into performance improvements.
• Training and Development: Train production staff on new processes, methods, and best practices.
• Compliance: Ensure all processes comply with safety regulations and environmental standards.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering, Textile Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: 2-5 years of experience in industrial engineering, preferably in the garment or textile industry.
• Skills:
• Proficiency in industrial engineering tools and software (e.g., AutoCAD, Lean Six Sigma).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of garment manufacturing processes, techniques, and machinery.
• Ability to conduct time studies and develop production standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
