Job Description Summary:
What you need to know about the role-

Take your technical skills to the next level with our Credit Production Engineering Team at PayPal. This team is responsible for responding to any critical live issues. Our team is looking for a strong and well-rounded engineer with an investigative mind, great troubleshooting/debugging skills and strong customer focus. A success profile will have a strong sense of ownership of the application stack, great analytical and problem-solving skills, in depth knowledge on latest technologies, ability to self-learn and attention to detail. You should be able to work independently and interact closely within the team.

Meet our team:
Credit Production Engineering (CPE) is the embedded live production support team for the Small Business and Financial Services Engineering organization in PayPal. We are the primary intake for all production issues and are responsible for 24 x7 monitoring and support of all credit products. We have engineers located in in APAC / NA regions for providing interrupted production support during holidays and weekends. We work in close collaboration with PayPal command center and product development teams to triage and remediate production incidents in a timely manner but with an objective of minimal impact for our customers.

Your day to day
In your day to day role , you will :
1. Triage and troubleshoot issues for PayPal Credit products and applications on the live site collaborating with other PayPal teams
2. 2nd level support for live site production issues. Provide initial triage and response to unknown issues/incidents, and identifying additional experts as needed to engage.
3. Triage and troubleshoot issues for PayPal products and applications on the live site. Identify exposures and mitigation plans ranging from making customers whole to working up stream to ID root cause drivers of customer problems and appropriate root cause solutions through product and process enhancements.
4. Prioritize solutions based on impact to the customer and Paypal business. When needed, develop, and implement immediate stop-gap fixes for processes and tools engaging Product Development team resources to develop long term solutions.
5. Weekend and after-hours support, on a rotating schedule, is required.
What do you need to bring :
1. Five or more years of experience in software development or production support
2. Excellent troubleshooting/debugging complex multi-tier applications including microservices.
3. Experience with BQ , Oracle/SQL and Stored Procedures
4. Experience with AWS, GCP and Unix
5. Experience with Batch Jobs Frameworks, preferably UC4 Scheduler
6. Experience with monitoring/alerting Tools (Splunk, DataDog , Kibana etc.)
