Job Description

Role & responsibilities:

1. Business Development & Sales Strategy

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in chemicals, petrochemicals, and allied sectors.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Drive sales growth through strategic planning, market analysis, and competitive positioning.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
  • Expand the companys presence in domestic and international markets.

2. Market Research & Industry Insights

  • Analyze market trends, customer demands, and competitor activities to develop data-driven sales plans.
  • Identify potential risks and opportunities in the chemical and petrochemical trade.
  • Stay updated on industry regulations, compliance standards, and emerging technologies.

3. Key Account Management & Client Relationship

  • Manage key customer accounts and ensure long-term business partnerships.
  • Address customer needs, provide product solutions, and negotiate contracts effectively.
  • Handle client queries, resolve issues, and ensure seamless after-sales support.

4. Import/Export & Trade Compliance

  • Oversee import/export operations, ensuring compliance with national and international trade regulations.
  • Work closely with logistics, procurement, and supply chain teams to optimize operations.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with suppliers and buyers.

5. Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing sales team to drive business expansion.
  • Coordinate with production, R&D, and finance teams to align sales strategies with company objectives.
  • Provide sales training and performance feedback to ensure continuous team growth.

Preferred candidate profile:

Educational Qualifications

  • Mandatory: Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Preferred: MBA in Marketing/Sales, International Business, or Supply Chain Management.

Relevant Role Expertise

  • Industry Experience: 7-15 years of experience in B2B sales, trading, or business development in chemicals, petrochemicals, or allied sectors.
  • Market Knowledge: Strong understanding of domestic and global chemical markets, pricing trends, and supply chain dynamics.
  • Negotiation Skills: Proven ability to negotiate high-value contracts and close deals with large clients.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Familiarity with REACH, GHS, BIS, DGFT, and other trade regulations.
  • Import/Export Operations: Experience in handling international trade, freight forwarding, and global sourcing.
  • Networking Ability: Established network of industry contacts in chemical and petrochemical trading.

Certifications (Preferred but Not Mandatory)

  • Certified International Trade Professional (CITP) For expertise in global trade practices.
  • Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) – For proficiency in logistics and supply chain.
  • Six Sigma Certification – For operational efficiency and process improvement.
  • IATA Dangerous Goods Certification – If handling hazardous chemical logistics.
