Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced GCP Big Query Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Big Query administration, performance optimization, and cost management within Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and configure Big Query roles and permissions based on access control and user roles (RBAC).
• Handle Big Query slots assignment and allocation to ensure optimal performance.
• Optimize Big Query SQL queries, improving query execution time from several hours to minutes by applying Big Query best practices.
• Implement FinOps best practices to monitor and manage GCP costs, ensuring cost control and preventing unexpected escalations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data, queries, and infrastructure within Big Query.
• Collaborate with data engineering and cloud teams to ensure efficient data management and query execution in GCP.
• Maintain proper documentation of configurations, changes, and optimizations in Big Query.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience working with GCP, with a focus on Big Query administration.
• Hands-on experience with Big Query roles-based access management (RBAC), query optimization, and slot allocation.
• Expertise in optimizing Big Query SQL performance, with the ability to significantly reduce query run time.
• Strong understanding of FinOps practices for cost optimization in cloud environments, particularly in GCP.
• GCP Big Query Admin certification is preferred.
• Experience with GCP cost monitoring and budgeting tools to ensure financial control.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• GCP certifications related to Big Query, Data Engineering, or Cloud Infrastructure.
• Experience in working with large-scale data systems in a cloud environment.
