Purchase Manager

Job Summary:

The Purchase and Procurement Executive will manage the sourcing, procurement, and inventory management of essential raw materials such as fly ash, cement, lime, gypsum, aluminium powder, and other inputs required for the AAC blocks manufacturing plant. This role involves ensuring uninterrupted supply at optimal costs while maintaining quality standards and adhering to procurement policies.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Procurement of Raw Materials:
   
• Identify and evaluate suppliers for materials including fly ash, cement, lime, and gypsum.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and contracts to secure cost-effective deals.
• Ensure timely delivery of materials to avoid production delays.
2. Vendor Management:
   
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
• Conduct vendor evaluations and performance reviews based on delivery timelines, quality, and cost.
• Identify new vendors and alternatives to improve supply chain efficiency.
3. Inventory Management:
   
• Monitor and maintain stock levels of raw materials to meet production schedules.
• Implement effective inventory control processes to minimize wastage and excess stock.
• Coordinate with production and logistics teams to ensure smooth material flow.
4. Market Research:
   
• Stay updated on market trends and price fluctuations for key raw materials.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend alternative materials or suppliers.
5. Documentation and Compliance:
   
• Prepare purchase orders, contracts, and other procurement-related documents.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and legal regulations during procurement.
• Maintain accurate records of procurement activities for audits and reporting.
6. Cost Optimization:
   
• Analyze procurement costs and work on reducing overall expenditure without compromising quality.
• Implement best practices in procurement to enhance operational efficiency.
7. Quality Assurance:
   
• Ensure raw materials meet quality standards and specifications required for AAC block production.
• Collaborate with the quality control team to address any material-related issues.

Key Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• Experience:
• Minimum 35 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the building materials or manufacturing industry.
• Proven experience in procuring fly ash, cement, lime, and other raw materials for AAC block manufacturing is highly desirable.
• Skills:
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement software.
• Good understanding of supply chain processes and inventory management.
