Role : Network Engineer

Job Description :

Network Engineer is a mid-level position responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and management of an organization's networking infrastructure.

This role typically requires technical expertise, and it often involves individual responsibility.

Key responsibilities of a Network Engineer include :

Must have :

- Palo Alto virtual - Panorama.

- Cisco Meraki.

- Internal stakeholders: Internal IT Infra/Service desk / on-site team.

- External: vendor coordination as needed.

- Network Design.

Role & Responsibilities :

- Designing and planning the organization's network infrastructure, including LANs, WANs, and cloud networks.

- Evaluating and selecting SaaS based networking (routers, switches, PA/Cisco firewalls, etc.) based on technical requirements.

- Ensuring the network architecture is scalable, reliable, and secure.

- Adhering to project timelines for all network-related projects.

- Network Implementation and Configuration.

- Responsible for deployment of new network hardware and software.

- Configuring cisco Meraki routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices like AP's, Cameras and ensuring the documentation is up to date.

- Ensuring smooth integration of new technologies with the existing infrastructure.

- Resolving network issues that arise during regular operations.

- Ensuring minimal network downtime and providing efficient solutions for technical problems.

- Providing on-call support for network-related issues.

- Ensuring that network infrastructure is secure from potential threats.

- Implementing and maintaining Virtual PA/Meraki firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and other security measures.

- Ensuring updates are done as per advisory from the OEM, and/or fortnightly/monthly as needed.

- Verifying the report regularly and giving heads up to the CISO team/IT manager, on potential vulnerability and having work around in consultation with OEM.

- Monitoring network performance using specialized tools to ensure optimal operation.

- Identifying bottlenecks and implementing strategies to enhance network performance.

- Managing bandwidth, latency, and network traffic optimization.

- Working with IT teams, system administrators, security teams, and management to ensure network integration with other systems.

- Coordinating with vendors and service providers for hardware, software, or service needs.

- Documenting network configurations, changes, and updates.

- Generating reports on network performance, usage, and security for review and improvements.

- Staying Updated with Emerging Technologies.

- Continuously researching new networking technologies (e., SDN, 5G, Wi-Fi 6, etc.) to stay ahead of industry trends.

- Recommending and implementing innovative solutions to improve network efficiency and security.
