Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled Backup and Storage Engineer with 6-10 years of proven

experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing,

implementing, and managing our backup and storage solutions to ensure data integrity,

availability, and security. This role involves strategic planning, technical execution, and

collaboration with other IT professionals to support the organization's data storage needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage backup strategies and solutions.

Monitor and maintain backup systems to ensure data integrity and availability.

• Perform regular backup and restore operations to verify the effectiveness of solutions.
• Design, configure, and manage storage solutions, including SAN, NAS, and DAS systems.
• Good experience in working on Opensource back up solutions and its implementation.
• Monitor storage performance and capacity, implementing changes to optimize resource utilization.
• Implement and maintain robust security measures for backup and storage systems.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, legal regulations, and company policies.
• Utilize advanced monitoring tools to track backup and storage system performance.3
• Diagnose and resolve backup and storage-related issues promptly.
• Work closely with system administrators, network engineers, and other IT team members to support business operations.

Skills Set

As a backup and storage engineer, we are expecting you to be proficient in one or more

tools/technologies and be open to learning and adapting to other tools/technologies. We

value adaptability and a proactive approach to embracing new technologies and industry

best practices.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in backup and recovery tools and technologies (e.g., Veeam,

Commvault, Symantec, Acronis).

Strong understanding of storage systems and technologies (e.g., SAN, NAS,

DAS).

Experience in evaluating opensource tools and their implementation.

Experience with data replication, deduplication, and archiving.

Knowledge of disaster recovery planning and implementation.

Familiarity with cloud-based backup and storage solutions (e.g., AWS S3, Azure

Blob Storage).

Education

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related

• Relevant certifications (e.g., EMC, NetApp, Veeam, Commvault) preferred.
