Role:Sr. Partner - Legal

Direct Reporting: Divisional Vice President - Legal & Company Secretary

Functional Reporting: Finance

Function: Legal

Location: Lower Parel


Job Purpose and Scope

Support and Assist the Head of Legal and Compliance on legal matters, including forming and vetting of contracts and notices, legal compliance, documentation, etc.


Accountability Result Indicator

  • Minimal legal complications for business
  • Turn Around time for addressing stakeholder's concerns and queries
  • Timely updation of statutory records and circulation of Board Agenda supporting papers /minutes for Committee board and shareholders meeting

Key Accountabilities

  • Assist in instituting proper systems to enable monitoring and ensuring legal compliances as well as developing standard guidelines for regular contracts
  • Provide counsel on appropriate legal safeguards and where required draft appropriate documentation
  • Work closely with the internal teams to ensure the relevant legal regulatory requirements are well understood and are reflected in the relevant documentation and internal procedures and policies.
  • Support for smooth conduct of Board , Committee and Shareholders meeting(s) and in drafting agenda , minutes etc and ensure compliance with respect to Companies Act 2013 and secretarial standards for parent co and subsidiaries .
  • Consistent support to the teams in completion of internal audit , statutory audit , secretarial audit and preparation of due diligence report for banks
  • Support in preparing legal notices, suits, legal replies, briefs for legal advisors/solicitors
  • Forming and vetting all contracts before it are signed by both the parties with the intent of identifying any legal clauses which may be harmful to the short and long term interests of the organization
  • Assist in getting necessary approvals from government and regulatory authorities
  • Provide advice to the HR department in relation to personnel, employee grievances and industrial relations law
  • Manage the overall legal costs within budget
  • Reporting MIS on monthly legal cases / litigations and quarterly contracts to the Management.
  • Provide support in the areas of brand protection and intellectual property rights protection
  • Ensure complete investor information and satisfaction

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

Education:

  • B.A. L.L.B. from a premier institute
  • Qualified Company Secretary from Institute of Company Secretaries of India .

Experience:

  • 2 - 4 years of relevant experience

Skills & Competencies:

  • Integrity and honorable behavior in business \
  • Communication skills
  • Detail orientation
