The Opportunity

The NDB team operates like a start-up within Nutanix and works on a product targeting the multi-billion dollar database market. We are quite successful as an on-premise offering and see an enormous amount of interest from customers in the product. We are now embarking on a journey of a multi/hybrid cloud managed service and want people with relevant skills and experience to be part of this exciting opportunity.

Nutanix Database Service is the only hybrid multi-cloud DBaaS for Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Database, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and MySQL. Efficiently manage hundreds to thousands of databases with no complex migration required. Quickly and easily provision new databases, automate important but tedious administrative tasks like patching and backups, and choose the right operating systems, database versions, and database extensions to meet application and compliance requirements.

About the Team

At Nutanix, youll be joining the NDB team, a tight-knit group of 13 talented members located primarily in Bangalore. You will report to the Senior Manager, Engineering, who is dedicated to enabling team members to thrive and succeed in their roles. Our work setup is hybrid, which means youll enjoy the flexibility of working from home while being expected to come into the office twice a week for collaboration and team meetings. This balance helps maintain strong relationships within the team while also allowing for focused individual work. Additionally, there are no travel requirements for this position, ensuring that you can remain dedicated to your local commitments while contributing to our teams success.

Your Role

• Architect, design and develop software to support provisioning, backup, restore, upgrade for Microsoft SQL Sever database in NDB product.
• Develop a deep understanding of use cases and design innovative solutions for customer requirements.
• Work closely with development, test, documentation and product management teams to deliver high-quality products in a fast-paced environment.
• Engage with customers and support when needed to solve production issues.

What You Will Bring

• Experience Programming/Debugging in Windows.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Database, Windows Storage Stack, Volume Shadow Copy Service(VSS) (Preferred)
• Good to have: MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Oracle, MariaDB
• Experience working with Storage Devices, Hypervisors ( ESX), Networking.
  Love of programming and rock-solid in one or more languages: Python, C++, Java ideally for enterprise-quality software
• Experience with virtualization technologies.
• Understanding of cloud solutions architecture
• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or related field required. Advanced degree in Computer Science preferred.
• Experience of 9-12 years in developing enterprise software.
