Job Description
Data Validation Reconciliation:
- Verify that all relevant data from the legacy platform (Google BigQuery) is correctly identified and present.
- Perform detailed comparisons between source (BigQuery) and target (Snowflake) data to ensure consistency and completeness.
Data Mapping Alignment :
- Work with data engineers, business users, and other stakeholders to understand data structures in both platforms.
- Develop and maintain data mapping documents to ensure proper alignment between the legacy and new platforms.
- Identify and document discrepancies, changes, or data gaps between the two platforms.
Issue Resolution Change Management:
- Collaborate with engineering and data teams to define actions required for missing, inconsistent, or outdated data.
- Propose solutions and recommendations to resolve data mismatches or anomalies during the migration process.
- Assist in planning and executing data transformations or enrichment activities when necessary.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Act as the liaison between technical teams, business users, and project managers, ensuring alignment on data requirements.
- Provide clear documentation, reports, and dashboards to stakeholders for visibility into the migration status.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills are required.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for automation and improvements within the validation and reconciliation processes.
- Maintain best practices and governance standards for data quality throughout the migration.
Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or similar role, with a focus on data platforms or data migrations.
- 8+ for principal level
- 3+ for standard level
- Strong understanding of Google BigQuery, Snowflake, and relational databases.
- Expertise in data validation, data mapping, and ETL/ELT processes.
- Experience working with SQL for querying and reconciling large datasets across platforms.
- Ability to work with data engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and troubleshoot issues.
- Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail, with experience documenting business and data processes.
- Experience with data governance, data quality, and change management processes.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines.
- Familiarity with dbt, GCP, and Snowflake migration projects is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in an agile or fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of data warehousing best practices and data architecture principles.
- Familiarity with Jira or similar tools for tracking progress and issues.
