Job Summary:
The Head of Supply Chain Management is responsible for overseeing and managing the company & overall supply chain and logistics strategy and operations to maximize the process efficiency and productivity. This role involves directing the procurement, logistics, and stores functions while leading and mentoring a team to ensure the smooth and efficient movement of goods from suppliers to customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management, excellent leadership skills, and a strategic mindset to drive continuous improvement and cost reduction.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning & Execution:
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies that align with the company's business objectives.
- Create and oversee the execution of logistics strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
Procurement Management:
- Lead the procurement team to source and purchase materials, goods, and services.
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and negotiate contracts to ensure favorable terms.
- Monitor market trends and collaborate with suppliers to ensure the supply of high-quality products.
Logistics Management:
- Oversee the logistics team to manage the storage and distribution of goods.
- Ensure compliance with laws and regulations regarding transportation and storage.
- Optimize logistics operations to reduce costs and improve delivery times.
Stores Management:
- Manage the stores function to ensure efficient inventory management and control.
- Implement inventory management systems to maintain optimal inventory levels and reduce waste.
- Conduct regular audits and monitor stock levels to prevent stockouts and excess inventory.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the supply chain team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
- Set clear objectives, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance reviews.
- Encourage professional growth and provide training opportunities for team members.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of supply chain activities.
- Prepare regular reports for senior management, highlighting key metrics and improvement areas.
- Implement corrective actions to address any deviations from targets.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions across the supply chain.
- Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to enhance supply chain operations.
- Lead or participate in projects aimed at improving supply chain efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Master's degree or professional certifications preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 20 years of experience in supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience in managing procurement, logistics, and inventory management functions.
