Position Title : DGM/AGM, External Communications
Location : Gurugram
Brief Job Description:
- Creating, implementing, and overseeing public relations, media, and content strategy to build brand recognition, corporate and leadership branding, category awareness, and category ownership by promoting key Company image drivers. Being in touch with all key stakeholders within the organization to drive internal brand image, identify story pegs, and disseminate widely through all channels.
- Supervising and overseeing media management (including facilitating leadership interaction with media and other institutions on a daily, monthly, quarterly basis) for Chairman, Managing Director, Head of Communications, and CXOs (finance, sales, operations, procurement, marketing, business development, HR, L&D, etc.) of all Jindal Stainless Companies. Maintaining good and personal relationships with all key journalists across relevant beats and at senior editorial levels through frequent meetings and calling.
- Writing key messages from top leadership for events, press releases, speeches, reports, journals and more. Guiding content team with relevant inputs to maintain sync and messaging efficiency across all verticals of communications team.
- Liaising with plant teams for effective regional PR strategy creation and implementation at local level.
- Selecting and supervising PR agency partners, creating and monitoring scope of work with the PR agency, and day to day overseeing of activities under PR. Creating SoPs for smooth functioning of work with all agency partners and maintaining mutually rewarding relationships with all partners.
- Supervising strategic and general communication for stainless steel industry including advocacy and awareness, collaborating with internal Strategy team, and external think tanks/ trade associations/ trade chambers to amplify the brand recall of Jindal Stainless, bolster the presence of MD, Jindal Stainless, and drive the category recognition and distinction of stainless steel
- Coordinating the development, distribution and maintenance of Company collateral like Annual Reports (Annually), Diaries and Calendars (Annually), CSR/Corporate/Product need-based online brochure updates (Monthly), Company literature (CXOs profiles, photo banks, Company logo files, contracts, etc.).
- Overseeing the development, coordination, and dissemination of Company's official monthly newsletter 'Stainless Post'. Maintaining monthly back-end analytics and developing improved strategy for better results.
- Assisting Corporate ATL marketing and sales activities, any other major org change by building a positive imagery, and ensuring that changes/ announcements are perceived in its true spirit.
- Devising PR strategy for events and exhibitions, media buying for statutory communications (including notices, UFRs, loss of share ads, etc.), and annual budget planning.
- Managing overall corporate and leadership reputation by actively contributing to content strategies for websites, social media and digital presence - overseeing collaboration between external, internal and digital communication teams within Communication team for seamless and 360 degree reputation building.
- Vendor management (including journalists, PR agency, creative agencies, media buying agencies, printers, event managers, strategic business partners, etc.)
- Organizing and hosting Company events and programs.
- Conceptualizing and carrying out corporate gifting for all stakeholders - get personally involved in media gifting by visiting media houses and greeting all relevant people during Diwali, New year, and other festive occasions
Desired Education:
- MBA/PGDM in Communications or Marketing or Graduate/Post Graduate in Mass Communication, Journalism or PR
- Desired Experience: 12-15 years
Competencies/Skills Required:
- Excellent writing skills - English and Hindi.
- Strong editing and presentation skills, with an attention to detail.
- Creative and visionary leadership with the ability to drive a high volume of work to completion.
- Ability to understand technical and business concepts and express them in clear and concise instructions
- Ability to interact with vernacular and national media (print, digital, and electronic) with ease and create and push story pegs
- Ability to forge genuine and lasting relationships with a wide array of stakeholders
- Tactical understanding of traditional, digital and new age media
- Expert strategy development and proactive presence
- Sound critical thinking skills - laser sharp intelligence to arrive at 5W and 1H answers, and seek them in their absence
- Readiness to work outside comfort zone - should be able to pull off long hours without breaking down when opportunity demands, should be ready to travel and stay outstation as and when needs arise
