Biology Subject Matter Expert

Job Summary:

We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Biology Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our

team. The SME will play a critical role in developing high-quality educational content, assessments,

and resources in the field of Biology. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Biology,

expertise in curriculum development, and a passion for fostering student learning and engagement.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with instructional designers, content developers, and educators to create and

review Biology curriculum materials, including textbooks, lesson plans, and digital resources.

• Develop and/or review assessment items, quizzes, and exams to measure student

understanding and proficiency in Biology concepts.

• Ensure that all educational materials and assessments align with relevant educational

standards and guidelines.

• Conduct research on current trends, advancements, and best practices in Biology education

to inform content development and instructional strategies.

• Provide subject matter expertise and guidance to internal teams on Biology content,

pedagogy, and instructional design principles.

• Collaborate with external partners, including educational institutions and publishers, to

develop and evaluate Biology resources and materials.

• Support the professional development of educators by designing and delivering training

sessions, workshops, and webinars on chemistry content and teaching strategies.

• Stay updated on emerging technologies and digital tools for enhancing chemistry instruction

and student learning experiences.

• Participate in the evaluation and selection of educational resources, including textbooks,

software, and laboratory equipment, to support Biology education.

• Represent the organisation at conferences, workshops, and other professional development

events as a subject matter expert in Biology education.

Qualifications:

• Master's or Ph.D. in Biology or a related field. Ph.D. preferred.(Not mandate)
• Strong background in Biology with expertise across various subfields.
• Previous experience in curriculum development, educational publishing, or instructional

design, with a focus on Biology education.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex

concepts clearly and effectively.

• Familiarity with educational standards and frameworks for Biology education.

• Proficiency in using educational technology tools and digital resources for content

creation and delivery.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and

deadlines effectively.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality educational materials

and assessments.

• Experience in providing professional development and training to educators is preferred.
• Passion for education and a dedication to promoting student engagement and success in
