**Sr. Analyst: Reporting and Analytics (Bangalore)**

This role is responsible for supporting and executing the overall data, analytics and insights vision and strategy for the sourcing function. She/he/they will work closely with cross-functional partners in Shared Services (SS), News Corp Technology, Finance and HR, and others in the design and development of world-class, end-to-end analytics and data sciences capabilities that will help create a leap in value.
This individual will partner directly with business leaders across categories, to identify opportunities to apply advanced analytics, data sciences and evidence-based methods to business needs. The leader will leverage and build on existing digital stacks and capabilities to accelerate the delivery of data-driven, high quality, novel recommendations and actionable insights.
This role reports to the Sourcing Excellence Leader.
**Accountabilities**
Assess the needs of the business, prioritize projects and drive analyses to completion. Work cross-functionally as needed to enable data architecture and solutions that best meet the analytics and reporting needs of the business
Gather complex data inputs from multiple sources, both internally and externally. Identify new data sources that will enhance business outcomes and support strategic and tactical objectives. Provide insights on trends and drivers behind the results and prepare reports on findings
Use modern visualization tools such as Power BI / Tableau to enhance business understanding through artistic, simple, and concise data story telling
Use statistical and other quantitative modeling techniques to analyze large data sets, identify business opportunities and quantify risks. Supports advanced analytics including prescriptive and predictive analyses
Identify and communicate key insight behind reports and analyses s to leadership team based on reports and analysis
Complete complex ad-hoc research, analysis, and reporting. Serves as a subject-matter expert on the team Work cross functionally in order to proactively and systematically identify and implement any enhancements to reporting and analytics processes
May assume project/initiative responsibility, and provide guidance to peers or act as a team lead
**Critical Experiences | Competencies | Abilities**
Bachelor of Commerce or Sciences Degree or equivalent experience required, MBA preferred. Minimum of 3 years of experience (e.g. analytics insights) is needed, preferably in the media industry; related experience includes mining data in analytics and developing reporting using a variety of reporting/analytics tools technologies
Minimum of 3 years of experience utilizing statistical software such as R, Python, etc, preferred Certification in Sourcing such as CPSM or CSCP, preferred
**Demonstrated knowledge of a variety of analytical concepts and techniques including: cost-benefit analysis, sensitivity analysis, predictive analytics, optimization, decision trees, performance metrics and scoring**
Experience working in and supporting a global, cross-functional organization
Expertise with BI tools such as Tableau and Alteryx required
Expertise with SQL querying language
Strong technical and analytical skills with the ability to think creatively and develop new solutions Strong organizational, problem solving, and analysis skill
Understanding/experience across various data facets/processes, including data creation and acquisition, data management, data governance, data quality, data integration, data visualization and advanced data, statistical modeling.
Excellent business acumen and ability to derive novel insights from market conditions, industry, and key business performance drivers.
**Strategic thinker with the ability to translate and synthesize complex information into clear insights and recommendations*for executives to peers.
Exceptional communication and partnering skills.
Outstanding stakeholder management experience at the most senior levels, superior influencing and collaborating skills.
**Excellent presentation skills*with ability to speak confidently across various forums to broad and diverse audiences.
Collaborative partner and team leader with a strong drive to create a positive and inspiring work required environment, especially during times of change.
