Job Description
We are looking for meticulous, detail-oriented proofreaders with expertise in English Language Teaching and Learning.
The job involves
- Checking content against a page plan
- Checking language for errors and inconsistencies
- Checking all page references, both internal and to other components
- Identifying any pages with overmatter/undermatter and handling appropriately
- Checking layout of proof pages (checking unit colours, icons, fonts and headings, spacing and alignment etc.)
- Checking images (ensuring they are age-specific, appropriate for the content, relevant, correctly placed, high-resolution etc.)
- Checking rubrics
- Checking answer keys
Expectations
- Expertise in English language
- At least 2+ years?? experience working with English Language Teaching and Learning materials
- Impeccable editorial, organisational and communication skills
- The ability to proofread a PDF document while using the Adobe markup tools to show required corrections
- Knowledge of the publishing process is a plus
- Experience with using InCopy to make direct corrections to content is a plus
