GCP Data Engineer

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Warehouse Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience in data warehousing, data modeling, and SQL. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in designing, implementing, and optimizing data warehouse solutions to support business analytics and reporting needs.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Data Warehousing Expertise:

• Deep understanding of data warehousing concepts, including ETL/ELT processes, data quality, and data cleansing.
• Familiarity with OLAP vs. OLTP concepts and ability to handle large-scale datasets for performance and scalability.
• Optimize query performance for efficient data access and analysis
• 2Data Modeling:
• Design logical, conceptual, and physical data models using star and snowflake schemas.
• Implement normalization/denormalization strategies and manage slowly changing dimensions (SCD).
• Create and optimize fact tables and dimension tables for large-scale databases.

2. SQL Proficiency:

• Write complex SQL queries for data aggregation, filtering, and reporting.
• Work with advanced SQL functions such as window functions, CTEs, and complex joins.
• Ensure SQL queries are optimized for performance, particularly for large datasets
• 3 Cloud ETL & Dataflow:
• Experience with cloud-based ETL tools and orchestration of end-to-end data flows.
• Knowledge of medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers) and data transformation pipelines.
• 4 Domain Knowledge:
• Preferably experienced in data solutions for sectors like banking or financial services.

Qualifications:

Essential Skills:

• Strong proficiency in SQL.
• Expertise in DWH concepts, ETL/ELT workflows, and BigQuery.
• Hands-on experience with GCP tools and DBT.

Preferred Skills:

• GCP Professional Data Engineer certification.
• Experience with additional cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).

Soft Skills:

• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities..
