GM - Civil Construction

Job Summary:

The General Manager (GM) - Civil Construction will be responsible for the strategic management and operational leadership of the civil construction division. The GM will oversee all project phases, manage resources, ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and drive the business's growth and profitability. This leadership role will involve managing multiple projects while fostering strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Strategy:

• Provide overall leadership to the civil construction division and ensure alignment with company goals and objectives.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency, project delivery, and client satisfaction.
• Manage and mentor senior project managers, engineers, and operational staff.

Project Management:

• Oversee the planning, budgeting, and execution of civil construction projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
• Establish project goals, objectives, schedules, and ensure that project teams meet performance and quality expectations.
• Address project risks, obstacles, and changes, providing timely solutions to mitigate delays or cost overruns.

Financial & Resource Management:

• Develop annual budgets and forecasts for the division; monitor and manage project financials to ensure profitability.
• Manage resources (manpower, materials, equipment) efficiently to optimize project execution.
• Lead contract negotiations and ensure cost control measures are in place.

Client and Stakeholder Relations:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, government agencies, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring timely communication, updates, and resolutions to concerns.
• Ensure all contractual obligations are met, and any changes are documented and communicated effectively.

Compliance & Safety:

• Ensure all projects comply with relevant local, state, and federal construction regulations, safety standards, and environmental laws.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure all employees adhere to safety protocols.
• Oversee quality control processes to meet or exceed construction standards.
