Database Analyst & Business Analyst - eCommerce (4-7 yrs)

A Leading ecommerce company catering the niche market and is India's best known online and retail store for music gear with over 800k monthly unique site visitors and 350k customers.

The company is seeking a highly skilled Database Analyst & Business Analyst with expertise in MySQL, MongoDB, and Tableau. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing structured and unstructured databases, optimizing queries, and delivering data-driven insights through Tableau. Additionally, they will leverage Tableau Exchange to find and implement pre-built reports and dashboards, ensuring efficient reporting solutions for business stakeholders. Ideal candidate will also have an ability to study the reports and identify business insights that can be actionable

Key Responsibilities

Database Management & Optimization

- Design, develop, and maintain MySQL and MongoDB databases for structured and unstructured data.

- Optimize MySQL queries, indexing, and schema design for improved performance and scalability.

- Manage and optimize MongoDB collections, indexes, and aggregation pipelines.

- Implement ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to integrate data from various sources.

- Ensure data integrity, consistency, and security across all database environments.

Business Intelligence & Reporting

- Develop and maintain Tableau dashboards and reports to support business decision-making.

- Identify, customize, and implement pre-built reports from Tableau Exchange to improve efficiency.

- Work with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business reporting requirements.

- Automate and optimize Tableau reporting workflows for real-time insights.

Data Governance & Quality Assurance

- Ensure compliance with data governance policies and best practices.

- Conduct data validation and quality assurance to maintain accurate reporting.

- Identify and resolve data discrepancies and inconsistencies across systems.

Process Improvement & Automation

- Identify opportunities to automate reporting and database management tasks.

- Develop and maintain scripts for data extraction, transformation, and automation.

- Support machine learning and analytics projects by preparing structured datasets.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills

- Expertise in MySQL: Advanced query writing, stored procedures, indexing, performance tuning.

- Proficiency in MongoDB: Schema design, aggregation framework, and performance optimization.

- Strong Tableau skills: Dashboard development, data visualization, and report automation.

- Experience with Tableau Exchange: Ability to find, evaluate, and implement pre-built reports.

- Familiarity with ETL processes and data warehousing concepts.

- Basic knowledge of Python or scripting for data manipulation (preferred).

Business & Analytical Skills

- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into business insights.

- Experience gathering business requirements and working with cross-functional teams.

- Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

- Degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business, or related field.

- Tableau certification or experience with Tableau Server administration is a plus.

- Experience with cloud databases (AWS RDS for MySQL, MongoDB Atlas).
