Job Description: Chief Medical Officer (Industrial Health Doctor)

Position Summary:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Chief Medical Officer (CMO) with an MBBS
degree and an Associate Fellow of Industrial Health (AFIH) certification. The ideal candidate
will have experience in occupational health management within large-scale industrial
settings, particularly in factories or facilities with 500 to 1000 employees. The CMO will
oversee all aspects of employee health and safety, conduct medical examinations, manage
emergencies, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Occupational Health Management:
o Conduct Initial Medical Examinations (IME) and Periodical Medical
Examinations (PME) for employees.
o Monitor and ensure workplace health standards in accordance with industry
and government regulations.
o Develop and implement occupational health programs and policies.
2. Emergency Management:
o Provide basic stabilization for medical emergencies and facilitate referrals to
higher medical centers when required.
o Train site personnel on emergency medical response and first aid.
3. Compliance and Legal Adherence:
o Ensure compliance with the Factories Act, Mining Act, and other relevant
government laws and regulations.
o Maintain accurate medical records and reports as per statutory requirements.
4. Employee Wellness and Awareness:
o Conduct health awareness programs, workshops, and presentations for
employees on occupational health and safety.
o Address health-related queries and concerns from employees in a professional
manner.
5. Interdisciplinary Collaboration:
o Work closely with safety, HR, and operations teams to integrate health and
safety practices into day-to-day operations.
o Advise management on health-related policies and initiatives.
6. Data Management and Reporting:
o Regularly update and maintain medical records for all employees.
o Provide periodic reports and insights on health trends and recommend
preventive measures.
Qualifications and Skills:
â MBBS degree with AFIH certification (mandatory).
â Minimum 4 to 5 years of experience in occupational health in a factory setting,
preferably with 500â1000 employees.
⢠In-depth knowledge of the Factories Act, Mining Act, and relevant government health
regulations.
⢠Strong emergency management skills, including basic stabilization and referral
capabilities.
⢠Excellent communication and presentation skills for delivering health talks and
training sessions.
⢠Proficient in maintaining medical records and compliance documentation.
⢠Ability to work in a dynamic, multi-location industrial environment.
Preferred Attributes:
⢠Prior experience in the mining sector or similar heavy industries.
⢠Additional certifications in advanced life support or occupational health management.
⢠Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
