BigFix Engineer - Endpoint & Security Compliance (4-8 yrs)

Job Description :

We are seeking a skilled BigFix Engineer to join our team at a leading Fortune IT Company. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in deploying, configuring, and managing BigFix solutions to ensure seamless IT operations.

The primary focus will be on endpoint management, security compliance, and automation to support enterprise environments.

This role involves configuring and maintaining the BigFix infrastructure, including relays, consoles, and agents, optimizing configurations for diverse IT environments, and ensuring the health and performance of the system.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement patch management strategies, enhance automation processes, and ensure security compliance.

Key Responsibilities :

BigFix Solution Deployment and Management :

- Design, implement, and configure BigFix solutions for patch management, software distribution, and endpoint security.

- Ensure efficient operation of BigFix components, including relays, consoles, and agents.

Endpoint Onboarding and Configuration :

- Manage the onboarding of new endpoints and configure BigFix for diverse IT environments (Windows, Linux, macOS).

- Ensure endpoints are compliant with organizational security and patching standards.

Monitoring and Performance Management :

- Proactively monitor the health and performance of the BigFix infrastructure.

- Identify and resolve issues to maintain high system availability and performance.

Patch Management and Security Compliance :

- Develop and implement patching strategies to ensure systems are up-to-date and secure.

- Automate compliance reporting to meet regulatory and security standards.

- Promptly address security vulnerabilities through patch deployments and system updates.

Scripting and Automation :

- Create and manage custom scripts, fixlets, and tasks to automate processes and integrate BigFix with other tools.

- Use scripting languages like PowerShell or Python for automation.

Collaboration and Support :

- Collaborate with IT, security, and operations teams to align BigFix operations with organizational goals.

- Provide training and ongoing support to users on the effective use of BigFix.

- Ensure adherence to best practices in all BigFix implementations.

Documentation and Audits :

- Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation of BigFix configurations, processes, and procedures.

- Perform regular audits to ensure the BigFix infrastructure is secure and optimized.

Required Skills :

BigFix Knowledge :

- In-depth understanding of IBM BigFix architecture, deployment, and management.

- Hands-on experience in configuring BigFix components (relays, consoles, agents).

- Strong knowledge of patch management and endpoint security processes.

Scripting and Automation :

- Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell, Python, or similar.

- Experience creating and managing custom scripts, fixlets, and tasks to enhance automation.

Operating System Expertise :

- Knowledge of Windows, Linux, and macOS in the context of endpoint management.

- Security Compliance and Audits : Experience in implementing and automating security compliance reporting.

- Knowledge of vulnerability management, patch deployment, and security standards.

Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving :

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve BigFix system issues.

Collaboration and Communication :

- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide user support.

- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into user-friendly documentation.

Preferred Qualifications :

- IBM BigFix Certification or equivalent experience.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- Familiarity with ITIL processes, including incident management, change management, and configuration management
