As a Vulnerability and Patching Specialist , you will play a crucial role in ensuring the security posture of our organization by identifying, assessing, and remediating vulnerabilities across our systems and servers.
Job Responsibilities
Vulnerability Management : Utilize vulnerability scanning tools and techniques to identify vulnerabilities within our infrastructure, applications, and systems. Risk Assessment: Analyse the severity and potential impact of identified vulnerabilities to prioritize remediation efforts effectively. Patch Management: Develop and implement patch management processes to ensure timely deployment of security patches and updates across all systems and devices. Remediation Planning: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement remediation plans, including coordinating patch deployments, system upgrades, and configuration changes. Security Best Practices : Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging threats, and best practices related to vulnerability management and patching. Incident Response: Assist in incident response activities related to security vulnerabilities, including investigation, analysis, and resolution. Documentation and Reporting : Maintain comprehensive documentation of vulnerability assessments, remediation activities, and patching processes. Prepare regular reports for management and stakeholders on the status of vulnerabilities and patching efforts. Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve vulnerability management and patching processes, tools, and workflows to enhance the overall security posture of the organization.
Qualification/Requirements:
Bachelor s degree in computer science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Solid understanding of networking concepts, operating systems, and security technologies.
4-5 yrs. of experience with vulnerability scanning and patching tools such as Nessus, Qualys, Patch Manager plus, Windows Server Update Service-WSUS or similar. Knowledge of HCL BigFix will be an added advantage.
Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for vulnerability assessment and patch management tasks.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and departments.
Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ are a plus.
