Oracle Database Administrator

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the administration, optimization, and maintenance of Oracle databases, ensuring high availability and performance across production environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform both Oracle database and operating system performance monitoring, making necessary adjustments to optimize performance.
• Provide strategic database direction and guidance for the organization.
• Ensure the availability and performance of Oracle databases by implementing best practices for performance tuning, backup, and recovery.
• Manage Oracle 11g/12c databases, including installations, configurations, and upgrades.
• Expertise in Data Guard for disaster recovery and high availability.
• Perform RMAN backup and recovery operations, ensuring data integrity and availability.
• Install, configure, and administer Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) and Oracle ASM (Automatic Storage Management) (RAC knowledge is an added advantage).
• Provide expert-level knowledge of RDBMS, Oracle DB architecture, and memory structures.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex performance issues, including server performance and query optimization.
• Proactively monitor the databases, identify issues, and implement solutions to reduce incidents and downtime.
• Provide 24/7 support for production environments, ensuring quick resolution of issues.
• Collaborate with application development teams to support day-to-day development activities, particularly database-related issues.
• Maintain strong knowledge and troubleshooting expertise in Data Guard and disaster recovery.
• Support SQL Server installations, backups, and recovery (knowledge of SQL Server is a plus).
• Write UNIX and shell scripts to automate repetitive tasks and streamline database operations.
• Work closely with both onshore and offshore teams to prioritize, multitask, and execute tasks efficiently.
• Conduct regular performance tuning of databases and resolve complex query issues.
• Contribute to process improvements and provide insights into database operations.

Desired Profile of the Candidate:

• 3 to 6 years of experience in Oracle database administration.
• Proficiency in Oracle 11g/12c and Oracle Data Guard.
• Expertise in RMAN backup and recovery procedures.
• Strong knowledge of RDBMS, Oracle database architecture, and memory structures.
• Hands-on experience in Oracle RAC installation, configuration, and administration (ASM knowledge is a plus).
• Strong troubleshooting skills, especially in performance tuning and resolving complex database issues.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work both independently and in collaboration with onshore and offshore teams.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of SQL queries and their optimization.
• Experience in UNIX and shell scripting is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of SQL Server installation, backups, and recovery is a plus.
