Engineering Manager

Role Description:

Oversee the development, performance optimization, and maintenance of the BHIM application. Roles responsibilities will include managing a team of developers, ensuring high-quality code, optimizing application performance, and implementing best practices for application development and performance management. Expertise of this role will contribute to the continuous enhancement of the BHIM product and its seamless functioning.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the development and testing teams responsible for building and maintaining the BHIM platform features.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, architects, designers, and other stakeholders, to gather requirements and define feature specifications.
• Design and develop scalable and reliable platform features that meet the functional and performance requirements of the BHIM application.
• Ensure adherence to coding standards, software development methodologies, and quality assurance processes.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to the development team to ensure code quality and maintainability.
• Define and implement effective testing strategies and frameworks to ensure the reliability and stability of the BHIM platform.
• Work closely with the Quality Assurance (QA) team to plan and execute comprehensive testing, including unit testing, integration testing, and regression testing.
• Monitor and analyze performance metrics, identify bottlenecks, and optimize the platform features for improved efficiency and user experience.
• Stay updated with the latest technologies, trends, and best practices in application development and testing, and proactively apply them to enhance the BHIM product.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the development team members, fostering their professional growth and ensuring a high level of productivity.

Domain Experience:

• Proven experience (10+ years) in application development and testing, preferably in the financial or banking industry.
• Prior experience with mobile application development and testing is a plus.
• Knowledge of payments systems, digital wallets, or UPI (Unified Payments Interface) is highly desirable.

Agile/Digital Experience:

• Strong technical expertise in programming languages like Java, C++, or Python, and familiarity with modern frameworks and technologies.
• Solid understanding of software development methodologies, agile practices, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.

Individual Skills:

• Experience in leading and managing a team of developers and testers, providing technical guidance and driving project deliverables.
• Proficiency in designing and developing scalable, distributed, and highperformance software systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex technical challenges.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
