Job Description
- To Conduct Cardio Pulmonary Bypass(CPB) for all Adult Cardiac Surgeries Independently
- To Initiate IABP independently
- Closely monitor with the team and understand the heart-lung machine to ensure that machine and associated equipment function according to specifications.
- To conduct Neonatal and Pediatric CPB uner supervision of Senior Perfusionist
- Cleans and adjusts parts of heart-lung machine.
- Circuit Assembly and Priming
- To engage all safety systems in the Heart Lung Machine
- To assemble and Prime ECMO machine and circuits.
- To Manager ECMO cases under supervision of senior Perfusionist
- To manage CPB and ECMO disposable inventory.
- To document all CPB and ECMO data
- To maintain the adequacy of Perfusionensure appropriate Blood gas and Hematocrit levels during CPB.
- To ensure proper disposal of CPB circuit and Oxygenators after the case completion
- Able to work accurately and with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of cardiovascular physiologyBasic physics Biochemistry and fluid balance
- Knowledge of Oxygenators and disposables used in CPB
- Working Knowledge of Heart Lung Machine and other associated equipments used in cardiac surgery
- Ability to comprehend written instructions given by the related departmental personnel.
- Ability to plan & organize ones work schedule effectively.
- Speaking and listening are essential requirements to understand and carry out the instructions given by the supervisors and other related departmental personnel.
- Ability to focus and concentrate on the work to ensure error free conduct of CPB
- Affinity to work in a team.
