Position Purpose:
As a Process Engineer, the incumbent will be responsible for supporting the development of new products, proposing improvements in the production process, and maximizing the quality, efficiency, and cost of existing products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct feasibility studies, scale-up studies, and technology transfer, ensuring successful handover to commercial scale.
• Lead pilot trials and commercialization of new molecules across all phases.
• Ensure maximum uptime of plant and machinery to support plant operations, focusing on year-on-year process engineering improvements, detailed engineering, and commissioning of new chemical plant projects.
• Plan, execute, and control new modification and proposal activities under the Management of Change framework (QCDSEM: Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, Environment & Morale).
• Prepare basic engineering packages and technology transfer reports for new molecules.
• Continuously improve the I/O norms for RMC & Energy of plants to benchmark levels.

Accountability:

• Lead process improvement initiatives.
• Ensure timely and accurate execution of engineering modifications and new chemical plant projects.
• Drive cost-saving projects and process optimization.
• Support plant operations and maintenance teams to ensure the consistent availability of plant systems.

Minimum Qualifications:

• B.E. in Chemical Engineering
• 12-15 years of experience in the Agrochemical industry.

Preferred Qualifications:

• B.E. in Chemical Engineering
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Agrochemical sector.

Technical/Functional Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of mini project execution under Management of Change.
• Expertise in engineering design standards, chemical engineering unit operations, and processes.
• Proficiency in creating and reviewing BFD, PFD, and P&ID.
• Experience in process scale-up, technology transfer, and risk assessments such as HAZOP, What-if studies.
• Ability to identify improvements in running plants and execute cost-saving projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out basic and detailed engineering for all major and minor modifications (under MOC) for process improvement, capacity enhancement, energy optimization, troubleshooting, and adherence to EHSQ standards.
• Ensure BEP and associated drawings are available for continuous improvement efforts.
• Focus on process automation and authorize countermeasures for critical/repetitive problems.
• Design and oversee manufacturing processes and equipment for large-scale operations, staying hands-on with new technologies.
• Prepare PFD, P&I Diagrams, batch size determination, and oversee installations and commissioning.
• Review technical specs, vendor documents, and drawings for quality and accuracy.
