Audio Engineer

Position Overview

The Audio Engineer will be responsible for integrating audio components, optimizing audio quality, and designing amplification circuits to ensure superior sound performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

Audio Codec Integration:
- Select and integrate high-quality audio codecs into the DRM system.
- Ensure seamless communication between audio codecs and the system's microcontroller.
- Validate codec performance under various operating conditions.
Audio Signal Pathway Design:
- Design audio signal pathways with a focus on low distortion and high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR).
- Implement filtering and signal conditioning to enhance audio fidelity.

Audio Quality Optimization:

- Utilize DSP (Digital Signal Processing) techniques to optimize audio quality.
- Develop equalization, noise cancellation, and dynamic range compression algorithms.
- Conduct subjective and objective audio quality assessments.
Amplifier Design:
- Design efficient amplifiers to drive speakers and headphones with minimal distortion.
- Optimize amplifier power output while maintaining thermal and electrical stability.
Testing and Validation:
- Perform detailed testing of audio circuits using tools such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and audio analyzers.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards for audio performance.

Collaboration:

- Work closely with the hardware, firmware, and RF teams to ensure seamless integration of audio systems.
- Provide technical guidance during prototype development and mass production.

Requirements

Educational Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Audio Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

• Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience in audio circuit design and integration.

Technical Expertise:

- Strong knowledge of audio codecs, ADC/DAC (Analog-to-Digital and Digital-to-Analog Converters), and audio signal processing.
- Experience in designing and optimizing amplifiers for low power consumption and high performance.
- Familiarity with DSP programming and algorithms for audio enhancement.
- Proficiency with audio testing tools like Audio Precision and simulation tools such as MATLAB or LTspice.

- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality audio solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with embedded audio systems for consumer electronics.

- Familiarity with wireless audio streaming protocols like Bluetooth A2DP and aptX.
