Position Description

Morgan Stanley s Commercial Real Estate Lending Group (CRE Lending) within the Securitized Products Group (SPG) originates, distributes and risk manages a portfolio traditional Commercial Real Estate loans across three global regions. We are currently seeking an interested Analyst/Associate level candidate to join the Asset Management team. The successful candidate will be expected to work with the regional asset managers of large portfolio of commercial real estate. The role is based in Mumbai.

Primary Responsibilities

Establish loan reporting dates and requirements at closing and manage the completeness and timely data entry into proprietary workflow platforms

Primary asset management responsibilities viz. covenant tracking, financial spreading, draw and upfunding review and analysis, drift analysis, loan data update/reconciliation within Morgan Stanley owned systems/databases and reporting functions.

Gather market data, and create meaningful analysis to aid with risk decisions

Assist in producing the quarterly underwriting assumptions and risk projections for the loans within the CRE Lending portfolio and review with the local loan coverage teams

Provide periodic risk reporting to local teams to support quarterly governance

Prepare and coordinate periodic regulatory submissions with global portfolio reporting team

Provide periodic updates on loan performance and key risks to CRE Lending Management, and coordinate information shared with Global Asset Management Team and Credit Risk colleagues

Coordinate with overlapping teams and provide feedback on further process and technology enhancements support

Qualifications

Masters in business administration from premier institutions or Qualified Chartered Accountant (ICAI) / ACCA / CPA.

Likes

Leave policy and employee support is good at Morgan Stanley. Medical benifits, career development courses are available. While joining they provide good percent hike over your existing salary.

Dislikes

Appraisal hikes are very low, less then market standard. Favouritism happens very frequent, community support culture is followed by senior management. Internal movements are purely dominated and managed by senior management. They don't let you leave team easily, or they spoil your ratings.
