Job Role :

We are seeking a skilled Database Migration Specialist to lead the migration of Oracle databases to open-source solutions like PostgreSQL. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in SQL, PL/SQL, and PL/pgSQL, along with experience handling database structures, scripting, and performance optimization.

Responsibilities :

- Migrate Oracle databases to open-source databases (e.g., PostgreSQL).

- Develop and manage schemas, tables, triggers, indexes, sequences, and constraints in Oracle and PostgreSQL.

- Analyze business requirements and design appropriate database models and schemas.

- Write and optimize database scripts, including stored functions, procedures, packages, and triggers.

- Provide optimal database design solutions to improve system quality and efficiency.

- Write ETL scripts, update SQL statements, and develop shell scripts for automation.

- Follow best practices for database design, security, and optimization.

- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for reference.

- Collaborate effectively with the team to ensure seamless database migration and integration.

Requirements :

- Strong experience in Oracle DB Versions 11G, 12C, 19C with hands-on SQL and PL/SQL.

- Expertise in PostgreSQL Version 12+ with hands-on PL/pgSQL development.

- Proficiency in database migration tools like Ora2Pg, PGLoader, or any Azure migration tools (added advantage).

- Knowledge of additional tools: SQL-Plus, SQL Developer, PLSQL Developer, TOAD for Oracle (minimum two), pgAdmin, OmniDB.

- Basic understanding of Java, Shell Scripting, Jenkins (added advantage).

- Experience in the EDI domain (added advantage).
