Environmental Head - Industrial & Plant Operations (12-30 yrs)

Key Responsibilities:

1. Construction Oversight for Environmental Compliance:

- Supervise environmental compliance during construction phases of industrial plants and facilities.

- Ensure integration of pollution control systems such as ETPs, air scrubbers, and waste management units in project execution.

- Collaborate with EPC contractors to align construction activities with environmental impact assessments (EIA).

2. Environmental Policy Implementation:

- Develop and enforce site-specific environmental policies for industrial operations and construction projects.

- Ensure all construction and operational activities adhere to local, state, and national environmental regulations.

3. Sustainability in Construction:

- Advocate for sustainable construction methods, resource efficiency, and eco-friendly materials.

- Support the implementation of renewable energy initiatives, such as solar or biomass systems, in plant construction.

4. Regulatory Compliance:

- Obtain and manage environmental clearances and ensure compliance with CPCB/SPCB norms during construction and operation.

- Maintain active communication with regulatory authorities for approvals and audits.

5. Audits and Monitoring:

- Conduct regular environmental audits and inspections at construction and operational sites.

- Monitor emissions, effluent discharge, and waste generation to ensure compliance with prescribed standards.

6. Stakeholder Collaboration:

- Coordinate with project teams, contractors, and design teams to ensure environmental safeguards are implemented in project designs.

- Act as a liaison between the organization, local authorities, and community stakeholders on environmental matters.

7. Training and Capacity Building:

- Organize training sessions for construction and plant personnel on environmental compliance and sustainability practices.

- Foster a culture of environmental awareness and responsibility across all project teams.

8. Incident Response and Mitigation:

- Develop and execute response plans for environmental incidents during construction and operation.

- Proactively identify risks and implement mitigation measures to prevent environmental hazards.

9. Documentation and Reporting:

- Prepare comprehensive environmental reports, including compliance updates, incident logs, and audit findings.

- Ensure documentation is ready for regulatory submissions and internal audits.

10. Innovation and Benchmarking:

- Research and integrate advanced technologies for pollution control and sustainable construction practices.

- Benchmark against industry standards to position the organization as a leader in environmental management.

Key Qualifications:

- Educational Background: Bachelor's/Master's in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related disciplines.

- Experience: 12+ years in environmental management, with a strong focus on industrial construction oversight.

- Technical Expertise: Familiarity with pollution control systems, environmental monitoring tools, and ISO 14001 standards.

- Skills: Proficiency in regulatory compliance, risk management, and stakeholder coordination.

Location: Bharuch, Gujarat (On-site role requiring frequent interaction across project sites).
