Job Title Cloud Engineer

Location Kothrud, Pune

Reporting to DGM- IT Operations

1. Job Purpose

• Provide support in IT AWS & Azure Cloud infrastructure hardware, software, networking as a part of daily IT operations for MIT World Peace University, its campuses and allied organisations/sister concerns.
• Team player and team leader. Budget preparation, monitoring, IT purchases, Vendor management

• Support, participate in executing/implementing IT policy across the university and its sister concerns.

Operational

1. Infrastructure Management

• Deployments and Configurations: Cloud Support Engineers are responsible for deploying and configuring cloud resources such as virtual machines, databases, and networking components. They ensure these resources are set up correctly according to the organization's requirements.
• Monitoring and Optimization: Continuous monitoring of cloud infrastructure performance and resource utilization is essential. Engineers optimize configurations to improve efficiency and reduce costs, often using monitoring tools provided by the cloud service provider (CSP).
• Good knowledge of Windows/Linux servers OS and hands on.

2. Technical Support

• Issue Resolution: Responding to and resolving technical issues reported by users or detected through monitoring tools. This includes troubleshooting network connectivity, application performance, and security incidents.
• Incident Management: Following established incident management procedures to mitigate the impact of disruptions. Cloud Support Engineers collaborate with other teams to promptly escalate and resolve critical issues.

3. Security and Compliance

• Security Measures: Implementing and maintaining security measures such as access controls, data encryption, and identity management within the cloud environment.
• Compliance: Ensuring cloud deployments comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, conducting audits, and implementing controls to maintain compliance.

4. Documentation and Training

• Knowledge Base: Maintaining a comprehensive knowledge base of common issues, solutions, and best practices. This aids in efficient troubleshooting and enhances the team’s collective knowledge.
• Training and Support: Providing training and support to internal teams or end-users on using cloud services effectively. This includes creating documentation and conducting workshops or webinars.

6. Continuous Learning and Improvement

• Stay Updated: Keeping up-to-date with advancements in cloud technology, best practices, and new features offered by CSPs.

7. Collaboration and Communication

• Teamwork: Collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams such as developers, system administrators, and security professionals to resolve complex issues and improve system performance.
• Customer Communication: Providing clear and timely communication to customers or stakeholders regarding incidents, maintenance activities, and service updates.
