Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to lead our Research and Development (R&D) department in the lighting sector. The Head of R&D will drive the innovation and development of new lighting products and enhance existing product lines. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronics, with expertise in the lighting industry, and possess exceptional leadership, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Role & responsibilities

• Leadership & Strategy Development: Lead the R&D team in developing innovative lighting solutions, guiding the team through the design, testing, and optimization of lighting products to meet market demands and industry standards.
• Product Innovation & Development: Spearhead the development of new lighting technologies and improve existing products to ensure we remain competitive in the market. Drive product design, prototyping, and testing processes.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including production, marketing, and sales, to ensure alignment between R&D initiatives and company goals. Foster effective communication and coordination across teams.
• Project Management: Oversee the planning, budgeting, and execution of R&D projects. Ensure that milestones are met on time and within budget, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
• Industry Research & Trend Analysis: Monitor and evaluate emerging trends, technologies, and consumer needs in the lighting industry. Implement cutting-edge technologies to ensure product relevance and future market success.
• Quality Assurance & Testing: Ensure all products are rigorously tested for quality, safety, and performance, and comply with industry regulations and standards.
• Product Launch Support: Provide technical expertise during the transition from product development to mass production and support the launch phase of new lighting products.

Preferred candidate profile

• Education: Bachelor's or Masters degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: At least 5 years of experience in research and development within the lighting industry, with a strong focus on lighting technology, product development, and innovation.
• Technical Expertise: Solid knowledge of lighting systems, including electrical design, performance optimization, and quality control.
• Leadership Skills: Proven experience in leading and managing R&D teams, with the ability to motivate, develop, and guide team members toward achieving department and company objectives.
• Project Management: Strong experience in managing multiple projects, including resource allocation, timeline management, and budget oversight.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively present and explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze technical challenges and identify effective, innovative solutions.
