Data Scientist - GCP

Job Details:

We are seeking a motivated and adaptable engineer with a minimum of 4 years of experience in software development, data engineering, or cloud technologies with a strong background in Python to join our team as a Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Data Science and AI Engineer. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of cloud services and programming, with a strong desire to learn and specialize in GCP AI/ML technologies. Candidates primary responsibility will be to design, develop, and deploy innovative AI / GenAI solutions using GCP's powerful suite of tools. Key Responsibilities:

1. GCP Data Science & AI Implementation:

• Design, develop, and deploy data science and AI models using GCP services like Vertex AI, BigQuery ML, Cloud TPU etc.
• Utilize GCP's MLOps capabilities for efficient model development, deployment, and management.
• Explore and apply advanced AI techniques such as generative AI, reinforcement learning, and federated learning.

2. Machine Learning:

• Design solutions utilizing different types of Machine Learning techniques such as Supervised, Unsupervised, Classification, Regression.
• Build pipeline for AI / ML model development process
• Evaluation of Machine Learning Models and how to address Overfitting / Underfitting.

3. Data Engineering:

• Ingest, clean, and prepare data for analysis using GCP data processing tools.
• Develop data pipelines and workflows to automate data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) using tools such as Apache Beam, Cloud Composer etc.
• Implement and maintain data pipelines using GCP services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Cloud Run etc.

4. Model Development & Evaluation:

• Develop and train machine learning models using TensorFlow, PyTorch, or other frameworks.
• Evaluate model performance using appropriate metrics and techniques.
• Optimize models for production deployment, considering factors like latency, scalability, and cost.

5. AI Applications:

• Build and deploy AI applications across various domains, such as natural language processing, computer vision, and predictive analytics.
• Integrate AI models with GCP services to create end-to-end solutions.

6. Security, Networking & Compliance (Good to have skills):

• Implement and maintain data security best practices within the GCP environment.
• Understand and manage networking concepts such as VPC, Cloud Load Balancing, and IAM within GCP.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and internal data governance policies.

7. Collaboration & Support:

• Collaborate with data analysts, data engineers, and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into data science solutions.
• Provide technical guidance and support to team members.

8. Continuous Improvement:

• Stay updated on the latest advancements in data science, AI, and GCP technologies.
• Contribute to the development of best practices and standards within the team.

Skills:

• Strong understanding and extensive experience in Python programming languages
• Exposure to basic data analysis or machine learning concepts.
• Familiarity and experience with cloud computing platforms. (GCP preferred)
• Basic knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Ability to quickly learn multiple technologies and adapt to new tools and platforms.
• Strong interest in technology and a passion for staying up to date with industry trends.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  

Education:

Bachelors degree in computer science, information technology, data science, statistics, or a related field.

Preferred Certifications:

• Relevant Programming Language certification (e.g., Certified Python Developer etc.)
• Any other Software Development or Software Engineering related certification
• Any cloud engineering certification (GCP preferred)
