Job Description
We are looking for a skilled IT/System Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining our IT infrastructure and ensuring the smooth functioning of hardware, software, network, and security systems. You will play a key role in troubleshooting technical issues, managing hardware procurement, and maintaining a secure IT environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Hardware Support & Management:
Troubleshoot and fix employees hardware issues, including laptops, desktops, printers, and other peripherals.
Format and set up systems as needed for employees.
Handle basic hardware issues or liaise with vendors for hardware repairs and replacements.
Procure new hardware as required, managing inventory and vendor relationships.
2. Software & System Administration:
Install, configure, and update operating systems and software applications.
Provide support for software issues and maintain records of installations.
Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights in Active Directory.
3. Network & Security Management:
Monitor and maintain network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
Manage firewalls, endpoint protection, and network security, with specific expertise in Sophos products.
Configure and manage VPN connections and other remote access solutions.
4. IT Infrastructure & Endpoint Management:
Implement and maintain endpoint protection measures for company devices.
Oversee backup and disaster recovery plans, ensuring data security and integrity.
Perform regular system checks, updates, and maintenance to ensure infrastructure reliability.
5. Support & Troubleshooting:
Provide first-line technical support to employees for any IT-related issues.
Troubleshoot and resolve software, network, and hardware problems.
Develop and maintain documentation of systems, procedures, and network configurations.
6. Security Compliance & Best Practices:
Ensure security compliance by regularly updating and patching systems.
Conduct security audits and assessments, implementing best practices to safeguard the IT environment.
Stay up-to-date with emerging security threats and propose necessary security enhancements.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience as an IT/System Administrator or similar role.
Strong knowledge of hardware troubleshooting and basic hardware repair/replacement processes.
Experience with Active Directory management and user provisioning.
Familiarity with network management and security, including configuring firewalls and VPNs.
Experience with Sophos firewall and endpoint protection solutions.
Basic knowledge of security principles, data protection, and IT compliance.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Certifications like CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications are a plus.
