Product Configuration Engineer

Position Summary:

A Product Configuration Engineer will be responsible for managing and optimizing the configuration of products throughout their lifecycle. This role typically involves working closely with product development, engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, and sales teams to ensure that products meet customer requirements and are produced efficiently.

Work Youll Do:

• Performs and manages day to day configuration management activities related to product configurations, options compatibilities, engineering documents in accordance with product configuration management process and standard works.
• Manage the PLM system for configuration management of the project/product.
• Ensures proper use of PLM system and end-to-end implementation of the Configuration Management practices on the assigned Project/Product as well as coaching of the project team members.
• Participate in the analysis of requirements for Configuration Management, prepare time estimates during project phases, and identify associated risks.
• Ensures consistency of information in the Configuration Management system for the products
• Participate in creation of Product Breakdown Structure (PBS)
• Work closely with product development, engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, and sales teams to ensure configuration management processes are integrated seamlessly.
• Support the resolution of configuration management issues across the product and project lifecycles, ensuring that corrective actions are escalated and completed in a timely manner.

Team: - This position will be part of Product Configuration team based at Ahmedabad, India.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or related disciplines.
• 5+ years of Product design, Product release and Configuration management experience utilizing PLM system (PTC Windchill)
• Familiarity with configuration management software, CAD tools, and data analysis tools.
• Good understanding of CAD/non-CAD document migration.
• Extensive knowledge and experience of Configuration Management practices and principles
• Strong understanding of engineering principles, product design, and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent Problem Solving and Strong statistical analysis skills.
• Team player with excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
