SME Openshift (Rotational Shift) WFO

Role & responsibilities -

Delivery Skills required are:

• Candidate must have at least 6-8 years of proven experience supporting OpenShift in an enterprise environment including deployment, configuration, and management of OpenShift clusters.
• Infrastructure Operations and Production Support of container technologies and orchestration platforms (Docker and Kubernetes)
• Docker/Kubernetes deployment, configuration, scaling and management of containerized applications both on-prem and Cloud (AKS, EKS, GKE)
• Working with tools surrounding the Kubernetes ecosystem such as helm, kubeadm, Sysdig, Prometheus, Grafana, FluentD etc.
• Working with configuration management tools (Chef or Ansible or terraform)
• Expert-level scripting and automation skills converting manual and maintenance functions into fully orchestrated automation.
• Experience with one or more Public Cloud IaaS / PaaS services - Azure, AWS, GCP, OCI.
• Must have Strong Knowledge & experience in system monitoring techniques and tools supporting unattended operations.
• Strong system security awareness and knowledge in OS hardening.
• Strong platform life cycle management skills of Containers like upgrade etc.
• Security Remediation process (vulnerability assessment and patch management)
• Must have experience in Performance tuning.
• Responsible for adherence of established ITIL practice such as Incident, Change, Problem and Release.
• Relevant certifications such as Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration or Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) would be a plus.

Management:

• Deploy, configure, and manage OpenShift clusters according to client requirements, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.
• Implement infrastructure automation using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or Helm, ensuring consistent and reproducible deployments of OpenShift environments.
• Identify performance bottlenecks within OpenShift clusters and optimize configurations to improve efficiency and resource utilization.
• Create comprehensive documentation, guidelines, and training materials for clients and internal teams to ensure proper understanding and utilization of OpenShift environments.
  
  

Troubleshooting Skills:

• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues in OpenShift deployments.
• Collaborate with Vendors for troubleshooting issues & implementation of changes.
• Perform Root cause analysis for P1/ Major Incidents
• Comfortable in Troubleshooting and fix complex Production issues
  
  

Security:

• Assist Team on Security related Tasks & Issues such as Certificate Management, Network & Port Access, Access Control list, User on-boarding & off-boarding, Password policy, etc.
• Implement security best practices for OpenShift environments, including network policies, role-based access control (RBAC), and container security measures.
  
  

Management Tools:

• Proficiency in at least one configuration management tool like Ansible.
• Perform Application Performance Management & Log analytics Management.
• Create/modify scripts to automate recurring tasks.
• Good with scripting and automating tasks through Shell/PowerShell scripting.
  
  

Co-ordination:

• Work closely with Subject Matter Experts on cost optimization and Continuous Service Improvements.
• Coordinate with other resolver groups for quick resolution of incidents and service requests.
• Vendor Co-ordination for troubleshooting issues & change implementation
• Handle escalations from L2/L3 team members.
  
  

Reports:

• Define and build cost & usage Reports.
• Candidate will lead analysis, recommendations, and presentation of approaches to customers complex problems based on prior experience.
• Candidate will be involved in conducing Kubernetes readiness assessments and evaluations and delivery of assessment reports, architecture/ design/ deployment documents & presentations.
  
  

Process Compliance:

• Prepare RFCs and represent RFC in the change advisory board for approval of changes. Assign approved changes to L2 group to implement them.
• Conduct recurring incident analysis to identify proactive problem tickets and work on the permanent fix for the issues.
• Gather information from vendor, customer, analysis from the troubleshooting/investigation, resolution steps implemented etc. and update the tickets regularly, as per the defined process.
• Follow through and execute the various Escalation Matrix (Vendor, Internal and Customer defined).
• Ensure tickets are closed post user/customer communication.
• Maintain inventory of OpenShift infrastructure.
• Constantly track tickets for SLA adherence and escalate on deviations as defined in the process.
