Mensa Brands - Legal Counsel Role - LLB (2-5 yrs)

Job Summary:

As Legal Counsel - Corporate Commercial, you will negotiate, draft, review, and manage a wide variety of contracts such as those related to e-commerce, quick-commerce, procurement, warehousing, logistics, advertising and endorsement. We are looking for a strong process- oriented diligent counsel who will interact daily with business leaders, external stakeholders and partners in a fast-paced environment. This role requires a strong attention to detail and ability to work confidently under pressure.

Duties/Responsibilities:

- Draft and negotiate general commercial contracts, listing agreements, procurement contracts, NDAs, technology (SaaS and PaaS) contracts, waiver letters, no objection certificates etc.

- Reviewing the terms and conditions of commercial contracts

- Edit legal documents to ensure consistency with company policies and applicable laws

- Maintaining accurate database and file records, ensuring compliance

- Communicating with senior management and sales leaders regarding contract provisions

- Providing a solution-oriented approach to business contract negotiations

- Assisting with other legal or litigation matters as they arise , Working with fellow Contracts Counsel to develop efficient and effective policies to meet legal and business needs

- Manage external advisors across jurisdictions that support the legal team

Required Skills/Abilities:

- Excellent communication skills. Ability to condense and convey complicated issues clearly and succinctly.

- Negotiation and drafting skills informed by business sense to deal with a rapidly scaling business

- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a fast-paced environment with a diverse pool of internal stakeholders such as the finance, growth and treasury teams.

- Exceptional analytical and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritise intelligently and manage competing timelines by exercising sound judgment

Education and Experience:

- LLB degree from a reputed institution.

- 2 to 4 years of experience as commercial contracts counsel in an in-house legal team.
