Senior Manager / Assistant General Manager-Purchase

Role & responsibilities

• Develop and implement purchasing strategies to ensure timely procurement of medical / non-medical supplies, equipment, and services.
• Monitor group formulary compliances
• Monitor purchases under GRC (group rate contract) and Non GRC
• Coordination with corporate team to ensure smooth supply from vendors
• Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with vendors to secure favourable terms and ensure compliance with hospital standards.
• Collaborate with medical and administrative teams to understand inventory needs and forecast future requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of all purchases, inventory levels, and supplier details to facilitate seamless audits and reporting.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers to achieve cost savings while maintaining quality standards.
• Ensure timely delivery of ordered items and manage delays or discrepancies effectively. Monitor vendor lead time and order fill rate.
• Monitor stock levels, manage reorder points, and minimize the risk of stockouts or overstocking.
• Monitor and minimize local purchases
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, DoA, healthcare regulations, and accreditation standards.
• Investigate and resolve issues related to defective or substandard products.
• Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, cost savings, and budget performance.
• Team management

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelor's degree with minimum 5-6 years of experience in same field
• Proven experience in healthcare procurement or hospital supply chain management.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent data analytical abilities.
• Ability to manage budgets, control costs, and identify savings opportunities.
