ROS2 Developer

Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and motivated ROS Developer to join our team at Mechatronics International. The ideal candidate will have expertise in ROS/ROS2, robotics algorithms, and software development for robotic systems. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining software solutions that power our cutting-edge automation and warehouse robotics products.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Software Development:
   
• Develop and maintain robotic applications using ROS/ROS2 frameworks.
• Write and optimize code for navigation, perception, control, and planning.
• Integrate third-party ROS packages and customize them for specific use cases.
2. Robotics Integration:
   
• Collaborate with hardware teams to integrate sensors (e.g., LiDAR, cameras) and actuators.
• Develop and test communication interfaces for robotic systems.
• Ensure seamless integration of hardware and software components.
3. Algorithm Development:
   
• Implement and optimize algorithms for SLAM, path planning, and obstacle avoidance.
• Develop machine vision and object detection modules as needed.
• Work on motion planning, trajectory optimization, and multi-robot coordination.
4. System Testing and Debugging:
   
• Perform simulation and real-world testing of robotic systems.
• Debug and troubleshoot issues in robotic applications and frameworks.
• Collaborate with QA teams to ensure software reliability and robustness.
5. Collaboration and Documentation:
   
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, electrical, and embedded systems engineers.
• Document software designs, processes, and user guides.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Mechatronics, or related fields.
• Proficiency in ROS/ROS2, including nodes, topics, services, and action servers.
• Strong programming skills in C++ and Python.
• Hands-on experience with robotic simulation tools like Gazebo, RViz, or similar.
• Familiarity with hardware interfaces and communication protocols (e.g., UART, CAN, Ethernet).
• Experience with sensor integration, such as LiDAR, IMU, and RGB-D cameras.
• Knowledge of robotic kinematics, dynamics, and control systems.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with autonomous navigation (SLAM, AMCL, Nav2).
• Understanding of machine learning and computer vision concepts.
• Familiarity with middleware, DDS, and distributed systems in ROS2.
• Exposure to real-time systems and embedded software development.
• Knowledge of industrial automation and warehouse robotics.
