Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and innovative Design Engineer with expertise in SolidWorks to join our engineering team. The candidate will be responsible for developing innovative design solutions, creating detailed models and drawings, and ensuring the successful realization of projects from concept to production. This role requires strong analytical skills and a passion for precision and functionality.

Key Responsibilities

1. Conceptual Design:
   
• Develop creative design concepts for new products, components, and systems using SolidWorks.
• Translate ideas and specifications into detailed CAD models and assemblies.
2. Detailed Engineering:
   
• Create accurate 2D and 3D drawings, including assembly and part drawings, with appropriate tolerances and GD&T.
• Conduct design calculations and analysis to ensure structural and functional integrity.
3. Prototyping and Testing:
   
• Collaborate with the manufacturing and prototyping teams to build prototypes.
• Test and evaluate prototypes, making design modifications as needed based on results.
4. Design Optimization:
   
• Improve existing designs for manufacturability, cost efficiency, and performance.
• Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
5. Documentation and Reporting:
   
• Maintain detailed engineering documentation, including design reports, BOMs, and technical specifications.
• Prepare project timelines and progress reports for stakeholders.
6. Collaboration:
   
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, and quality control, to ensure seamless integration of designs into production.
• Engage with customers or stakeholders to understand requirements and incorporate feedback into designs.
7. Compliance and Standards:
   
• Ensure designs adhere to industry standards, company policies, and client-specific requirements.
• Stay updated on advancements in CAD technologies and industry trends.

Key Qualifications

1. Education:
   
• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field.
2. Experience:
   
• [2+ years] of experience as a Design Engineer, preferably with a focus on SolidWorks.
• Familiarity with product design in [automation, machinery, etc.].
3. Technical Skills:
   
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, including 3D modeling, assembly design, simulation, and drafting.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and tolerance analysis.
• Experience with material selection and manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, sheet metal,).
• Understanding of FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and motion analysis in SolidWorks.
4. Soft Skills:
   
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with a focus on innovation and quality.
5. Additional Requirements:
   
• Familiarity with PDM (Product Data Management) software.
• Knowledge of other CAD tools like AutoCAD or CATIA is a plus.
• Willingness to collaborate across departments and adapt to new challenges.
