Job Overview:
The Technical Sales Engineer / BD Engineer is responsible for driving sales, identifying opportunities, and fostering client relationships across a range of sectors including Food Processing, Power & Water, Healthcare, Manufacturing, Renewable Energy, and Mining. This role involves significant client interaction, project management, and ensuring that company products and services meet customer needs. The successful candidate will manage the entire sales cycle, including developing strategies, responding to RFQs, and creating long-term partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Market company's manufacturing products and services to a diverse range of clients
- Achieve revenue targets, managing margins and working capital
- Develop strategies for increasing sales and profits
- Identify new business opportunities, markets, and customers
- Participate in tendering processes, ensuring accurate pricing and follow-up
- Maintain strong customer relationships, identifying needs and challenges
- Provide regular reports on opportunities, competitive intelligence, and market trends
- Lead negotiations and close sales opportunities
- Manage existing contracts and tenders
- Promote the company's interests in local and international markets
- Document activities and provide regular updates via Customer Visit Reports (CVR)
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Manufacturing, or related fields
- 10-15 years of experience in technical sales and business development
- Proven track record in sales within non-oil & gas sectors (food processing, power & water, healthcare, manufacturing, renewable energy, mining)
- Expertise in the application of non-oil & gas equipment
- Experience in manufacturing technical sales roles is essential
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong sales, marketing, and account management skills
- Excellent technical knowledge and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication, time management, and negotiation skills
- Ability to influence customers and maintain relationships
- Politically astute and commercially aware
- Good presentation and documentation skills
