Manager/Sr. Manager-MEP

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Manager MEP to oversee and coordinate all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing aspects of our projects. The role involves providing technical oversight, reviewing designs, ensuring compliance with engineering standards, and working closely with stakeholders to drive project success. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems for commercial/residential projects, along with proven project management and leadership abilities.

Role & responsibilities

1. MEP Design & Review

• Assist in MEP design development and reviews for projects.
• Provide technical guidance to design, construction, and project management teams.
• Develop detailed MEP engineering scopes of work for projects.
• Review and comment on all MEP work performed by engineering consultants.

2. Project Execution & Quality Assurance

• Conduct site inspections to ensure adherence to engineering standards and specifications.
• Support construction teams by providing MEP-related guidance, reviews, and coordination.
• Monitor material specifications to ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Benchmark and optimize project costs through value engineering and efficiency strategies.

3. Regulatory & Compliance Management

• Assist in the MEP permit review process for capital projects.
• Ensure all MEP systems and installations comply with local and national codes.

4. Budgeting & Resource Planning

• Oversee budget control and cost monitoring for MEP-related work.
• Plan and schedule resources to ensure project timelines are met.

5. Technical Oversight & Stakeholder Coordination

• Develop and evaluate engineering studies, specifications, performance assessments, and reports.
• Recommend alternative engineering solutions to optimize project outcomes.
• Prepare and review all MEP field reports regularly.
• Coordinate with office staff, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.

6. Additional Responsibilities

• Manage preventative maintenance teams and establish work standards.
• Assign and schedule activities, ensuring efficient team operations.
• Provide ongoing support for any additional tasks identified in project scope.

Key Skills

• Expertise in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems for commercial and residential projects.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office tools.
• Strong understanding of local and national engineering codes and compliance regulations.
• Ability to develop cost estimates, specifications, and production drawings.
• Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to thrive in high-pressure situations while maintaining focus and efficiency.
