ETL ODI Developer (6-7 yrs)

Position Overview :

As an ETL ODI Developer, you will be responsible for designing and developing data pipelines, performing data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) operations using Oracle Data Integrator (ODI).

You will collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their requirements and create robust data architectures that support business intelligence needs.

The role requires strong technical expertise in SQL, ODI, data warehousing, and ELT processes, with a keen understanding of data governance, quality, and profiling.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design and develop efficient ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes using Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) to load data from source systems into data warehouse environments.

- Implement ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) processes, moving data from source tables into staging tables and subsequently to target fact and dimension tables within the data warehouse.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design the data integration layer and optimize the ETL/ELT processes for maximum performance and efficiency.

- Design and create data warehouse tables, including fact tables, dimension tables, and staging tables, and ensure that they meet the business requirements.

- Develop table creation scripts and execute them in coordination with the Database Administrator (DBA) to ensure smooth deployment and maintenance of tables.

- Collaborate with the DBA team to maintain table performance, ensuring data is accurately loaded and stored in an optimized manner.

- Analyze and validate the data loaded into various tables by creating SQL queries to ensure that the data conforms to expected quality standards.

- Perform thorough data validation, using SQL queries and other tools to identify any discrepancies, data anomalies, or inconsistencies.

- Implement and monitor data profiling techniques to ensure data quality and integrity at all stages of the ETL process.

- Work closely with business analysts and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

- Analyze data sources and determine the relationships between different datasets to effectively pair them with the business requirements documentation (BRD).

- Participate in the design and documentation of data models, data flows, and metadata to ensure alignment with business goals.

- Ensure that the ETL/ELT process adheres to data governance practices, ensuring the security, privacy, and quality of data.

- Implement data profiling techniques to assess the quality and structure of incoming data, ensuring that it meets the necessary standards before being integrated into the data warehouse.

- Support the organization's data governance strategy by adhering to industry best practices and internal protocols.

- Continuously monitor and tune the performance of ETL processes to ensure that data loads are completed within the required timeframe and with minimal resource consumption.

- Optimize ODI mappings, procedures, and sessions to improve performance and reduce execution time.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

Experience :

- 6+ years of experience in ETL development, with a focus on Oracle Data Integrator (ODI).

- Proven experience in data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, and the implementation of large-scale data integration solutions.

- Strong hands-on experience with SQL and performing data validation tasks.

Technical Skills :

- Extensive experience using ODI to design and implement data integration workflows and ELT processes.

- Expertise in designing data warehouse tables, fact tables, dimension tables, and working with the database team to deploy and optimize these structures.

- Strong command of SQL, with the ability to write complex queries for data validation, data manipulation, and performance tuning.

- Knowledge of data quality issues and best practices to ensure high-quality data is being integrated into the system.

- Experience with tools and techniques to profile and assess the quality of incoming data.

- Ability to map source data to target structures and ensure data accuracy and integrity.

- Ability to generate detailed reports and maintain clear documentation for ETL processes, mappings, and data quality checks
