Job Description

  • Team Leadership : Provide direct supervision of NOC team members, offering guidance and leadership to build a process-oriented, cross-functional team.
  • Shift Operations : Lead 24/7 shift operations, ensuring the optimal scheduling of shift coverage and effective coordination of operational work streams for seamless service delivery.
  • Incident Management : Manage and support incident triage (Severity 1-4), ensuring timely resolution and restoration of services. Escalate issues as required, working closely with vendors for resolution.
  • Process Procedure Development : Create, maintain, and continually improve processes and procedures for Tier 2 (T2) tasks, ensuring compliance with SLAs and the Tier model.
  • IP Routing and Network Optimization : Oversee the design, implementation, and troubleshooting of IP routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, MPLS, and EIGRP, ensuring effective routing across the network. Optimize IP/MPLS-based VPNs for better performance and scalability.
  • VPN and Security : Ensure the secure implementation and management of Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), including site-to-site and remote access VPNs, ensuring that security protocols are up to date and align with best practices.
  • Vendor Collaboration : Work closely with vendors such as Cisco, Ericsson, Nokia, and Juniper to resolve technical issues, ensure system updates, and manage the overall health of network systems.
  • Shift Meetings : Organize regular shift meetings to communicate key updates, discuss operational issues, and facilitate their resolution.
  • Performance Metrics : Track, analyse, and report on key metrics such as availability, incident resolution, and service delivery performance.
  • Process Optimization : Conduct regular reviews of processes to drive ongoing optimization of NOC operations, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of the business.
  • Service Reporting : Review and provide service reports on a regular basis, ensuring transparency in operational performance.
  • Escalation Handling : Address both technical and non-technical escalations promptly, ensuring effective communication and resolution.
  • Performance Management : Conduct performance evaluations, set objectives, and provide coaching and training to team members to enhance operational capabilities.
  • Compliance : Ensure monitoring compliance with Tier model standards and SLAs, with a focus on business-critical and revenue-generating platforms.
  • Communication : Provide timely, accurate, and effective communication during service-impacting events, both internally and with external vendors.
Qualifications:
  • Education : Bachelor s Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience : 10-15 years of relevant experience in the telecom domain, with at least 7 years of experience in network operations or NOC management.
  • Certifications :
    • CCNA/CCNP Certification : Must hold valid Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certifications, demonstrating in-depth knowledge of IP routing and switching.
  • Technical Expertise :
    • Strong knowledge of IP routing protocols including OSPF, BGP, MPLS, and EIGRP.
    • Hands-on experience with Cisco, Ericsson, Nokia, and Juniper devices, including configuration, troubleshooting, and performance monitoring.
    • Experience with VPN technologies, including site-to-site, remote access VPNs, and IPsec/SSL VPNs.
    • Experience with network monitoring technologies such as SolarWinds.
    • Familiarity with ticketing tools like JIRA, SCCD, BMC Remedy.
    • Proficiency in monitoring, troubleshooting, and administration of network elements and systems.
    • Experience in mobile network domains, including CORE, VAS, EMS, and RAN components.
  • Skills :
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently or in a team and meet deadlines in a 24/7 work environment.
    • Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams and manage onshore-offshore coordination.
