Job PurposeThe Contracts Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the effective management and execution of contractual obligations across multiple projects. This position is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and negotiating contracts to protect the organization's interests, mitigate risks, and optimize financial outcomes. By providing expert guidance and support to project teams, the Contracts Manager ensures compliance with legal and contractual requirements while facilitating clear communication between internal and external stakeholders. Ultimately, this role aims to enhance project success and contribute to the organization’s overall profitability.

Roles & ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibility Areas









Objective Key Responsibilities (OKRs)

• Preparation and vetting of NDA, MOU, JVA etc. for upcoming projects.
  
• Raising prebid queries and preparation of contractual risk analysis of tenders.
  
• Supporting multiple project teams for contractual issues including drafting correspondences viz. EOT, Variations, cost claims, replies to Client notices etc.
  
• Thorough reading and understanding of Project related all Contract Documents. Clarity regarding rights and obligations of the parties.
  
• Preparation of Contract Appreciation Document (CAD) for new contracts.
  
• Providing guidance to Planning team from Contractual perspective during preparation of Baseline and Revised/impacted Work program.
  
• Have a strict eye for any Variation. Events having time and cost impact on account of Employer, shall be notified immediately.
  
• Claim identification and preparation pursuant to the clauses of the Contract.
  
• Handling contractual issues of physically closed contracts for minimization of losses and maximization of profit for the organisation.
  
• Supporting legal team for dispute resolution.
  

Team Manager Responsibilities
Support project teams in addressing contractual issues, ensuring compliance, and fostering a collaborative environment for effective contract management.

Key Performance Indicators

• Timeliness and accuracy of contract document preparation and vetting.
  
• Successful identification and notification of variations and their impacts.
  
• Effective resolution of contractual disputes and claims amicably between the parties. In case of arbitration / litigation effective handing over and support to legal team.
  

Organizational Accountabilities
Accountable for minimizing financial losses and maximizing profitability through strategic contract management and compliance with legal requirements.

Job Qualifications and Requirements

Knowledge and Experience

• A minimum of 7-8 years in contract management for large, complex infrastructure projects, including EPC, MEP, and T&D projects. HO and/or Regional office experience dealing with multiple projects is preferred.
  
• Strong understanding of FIDIC Conditions of Contract and other relevant contractual frameworks.

Education and Certifications

• University Degree in Engineering.
  
• Full-time postgraduate qualification from NICMAR or RICS. Additional qualifications in Law are preferred but not required.
