Position Title: Dispatch Supervisor

Position Overview:

The Dispatch Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the dispatch team to ensure efficient scheduling, routing, and delivery of goods and services. This role requires excellent organizational skills, strong leadership, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The Dispatch Supervisor ensures that all dispatch activities comply with company policies, safety standards, and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Dispatch Operations Management:
   
• Supervise, coordinate, and monitor all dispatch activities to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
• Develop and optimize routing schedules for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Monitor delivery progress and address any delays or issues in real-time.
2. Team Leadership:
   
• Lead, train, and mentor dispatch staff, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Schedule shifts, manage workloads, and oversee performance evaluations.
• Foster a positive, collaborative work environment focused on continuous improvement.
3. Communication & Coordination:
   
• Serve as the primary point of contact between drivers, warehouse staff, and customers.
• Communicate delivery instructions clearly to drivers and address any operational concerns.
• Coordinate with other departments (e.g., Sales, Customer Service, Warehouse) to ensure seamless operations.
4. Compliance & Documentation:
   
• Ensure all dispatch activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including safety and transportation laws.
• Maintain accurate records of dispatch schedules, delivery logs, driver hours, and vehicle maintenance.
• Review and verify documentation for accuracy, including delivery receipts, trip reports, and fuel usage.
5. Problem Solving & Issue Resolution:
   
• Address and resolve any issues related to delays, vehicle breakdowns, or customer complaints.
• Implement proactive solutions to minimize disruptions and improve service delivery.
6. Reporting & Analysis:
   
• Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as delivery times, fuel consumption, and route efficiency.
• Generate regular reports on dispatch operations and suggest improvements for efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates or Bachelors degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in dispatch, logistics, or transportation management, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in dispatch software and routing systems (e.g., GPS, TMS platforms).
• Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Certifications: Valid drivers license required; certifications in transportation management or safety compliance are a plus.

• May require occasional visits to warehouses, loading docks, or delivery sites.
