Junior Database Administrator - Configuration & Maintenance (1-3 yrs)

Core Skills & Experience :

Experience : 1-3 years

- Based in Mangalore/Udupi, so local candidates or those willing to relocate are preferred.

- Knowledge of MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MS SQL Server, and MongoDB.

- Understanding and experience with both types of databases.

- Skills in indexing, partitioning, query optimization, and general database performance management.

- Experience implementing various backup strategies and restoring databases in case of failure.

- Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell to automate tasks.

- Knowledge of securing databases, including encryption, user roles, and data access control.

Roles & Responsibilities :

- Set up and maintain the monitoring tools, ensuring integration with the systems and applications.

- Monitor and respond to incidents swiftly, collaborating with relevant teams for troubleshooting and resolution.

- Implement alerting rules and manage escalation procedures to handle critical issues.

- Monitor resource usage, optimize system performance, and forecast infrastructure needs.

- Maintain documentation on monitoring, configurations, and incident management; generate reports for stakeholders.

- Constantly review and improve the monitoring infrastructure and processes.

- Must be able to work effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
