Purchase Engineer

Receiving the enquiries from the costing team (with defined specifications) for engineering items. Understanding the enquiry, checking the details received. If information is not sufficient to ask for the same to sales/ costing team.

Enquiry Handling:
Receive enquiries from the costing team with specific engineering specifications.
Thoroughly review the enquiry details to ensure clarity and completeness.
Identify any missing information and request clarification from the sales or costing team.
Vendor Identification and Selection:
Identify potential suppliers or vendors who can meet the required specifications and quality standards.
Evaluate vendor performance based on factors like price, quality, delivery time, and reliability.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
Request for Quotation (RFQ) Process:
Prepare and issue RFQs to selected vendors, clearly outlining the required specifications, quantities, and delivery deadlines.
Follow up with vendors to ensure timely submission of quotations.
Quotation Analysis and Comparison:
Analyze received quotations, comparing prices, delivery terms, and other factors.
Negotiate with vendors to achieve the best possible price and terms.
Purchase Order (PO) Issuance:
Prepare and issue purchase orders to selected vendors, specifying order details, delivery terms, and payment terms.
Monitor PO execution and track delivery schedules.
Vendor Performance Monitoring:
Monitor vendor performance, including delivery timelines, quality, and pricing.
Address any issues or concerns with vendors promptly.
Cost Reduction:
Continuously explore opportunities to reduce procurement costs without compromising quality.
Implement cost-saving strategies, such as bulk purchasing, vendor consolidation, or alternative sourcing.
