Lead DevOps Engineer - Docker/Kubernetes (8-10 yrs)

Project Description :

The role involves managing and optimizing a suite of systems used across various banking projects to facilitate DevOps toolchains, collaboration, security scanning, and adherence to regulatory requirements.

- Migration, decommissioning, and final removal of outdated services.

- Maintenance to ensure performance, security, and reliability.

- Build & Deploy DevOps Toolchains : Odyssey, CS GitLab.

- Security Scanning : Implementation and monitoring.

- Collaboration Tools : Enhancing team productivity.

- Software Governance : Ensuring compliance with standards.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead and mentor a team of engineers to deliver high-quality results.

- Provide technical guidance and plan the roadmap for project goals.

- Foster a collaborative and innovative environment.

- Facilitate Scrum events to ensure Agile practices are followed.

- Monitor progress using Jira and ensure quality delivery.

- Communicate project updates and progress to stakeholders effectively.

- Ensure a secure and reliable infrastructure environment.

- Guarantee production stability and performance through proactive monitoring and maintenance.

- Analyze and resolve application/system issues, defining corrective measures.

- Manage monitoring systems (Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana) and renew certificates.

- Perform functional/configuration changes to improve automation and reduce maintenance efforts.

- Oversee cleanups and removal of redundant applications, functions, and data.

- Work closely with other engineering groups to deliver large-scale programs.

- Align CI/CD pipelines with evolving infrastructure and project needs.

Mandatory Skills and Qualifications :

- Minimum 8 years in IT, including 5+ years in DevOps tools and automation.

- Experience working in large investment banking environments.

- Strong knowledge of Linux (RHEL).

- Proficiency in Java/Groovy programming.

- Expertise in DevOps tools like GitLab, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Kubernetes/OpenShift, and Ansible/Salt.

- Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager, Splunk).

- Proficiency in database systems like PostgreSQL.

- Hands-on experience with code quality and dependency scanning tools like SonarQube and Nexus IQ.

- Strong knowledge of build tools such as Maven, Gradle, and NPM.

- Administration and maintenance of tools such as OpenShift, Kubernetes, JFrog Artifactory, Jira, Confluence, and GitLab.

- Building and optimizing CI/CD pipelines on Jenkins and GitLab.

- Adaptation of CI/CD processes to new infrastructure environments.

- Analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.

- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

- Degree in IT or a related field.

- Experience with tools like HA Proxy, Transporter, Docker, and container orchestration (Kubernetes).

- Familiarity with JFrog Artifactory, Jira, and Confluence.
